Last week, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham appointed Sabrina Pack and Robert Stump to the State Game Commission.
Sabrina Pack is a lifelong resident of Grant County and has strong ties to ranching in the area. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration with a specialty in Management. She is an executive board member of the New Mexico Broadcasters Association, board member of the Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Grant County Prospectors. She is a marketing professional and serves as the Chief Operating Officer of SkyWest Media. She and Stump, also a lifelong resident of New Mexico, will serve through March of next year.
We congratulate Dr. Pack (pictured at right signing her oath paperwork) and know that she will address this new challenge with the same commitment and thoughtfulness that she brings to the NMBA.

While there has been a wave of resignations from the Legislature since it ended, there is one resignation that stood out to us. On March 8 Senator William “Bill” Burt (R-Alamogordo) announced his retirement from the New Mexico Senate after 14 years of dedicated public service. Senator Burt will complete the remainder of his term through the end of 2024.

“After prayerful consideration and discussions with my family, I have made the difficult decision to retire from the New Mexico Senate at the end of this year. Representing the people of Otero, Chaves, and Lincoln counties has been the privilege of a lifetime, and I will always cherish the confidence and support of the voters in Senate District 33. I look forward to completing my term and supporting the next wave of leaders who will serve our communities and state well.”
