Cy Palmer Memorial Car Seat Clinic scheduled for Oct. 24 NMDOT, Safer New Mexico Now to host car seat safety check in Artesia
ARTESIA, N.M. — The New Mexico Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Division (NMDOT TSD), Safer New Mexico Now (Safer) and the Frank W. Yates Jr. Family Foundation will host the Cy Palmer Memorial Car Seat Clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Bulldog Stadium, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Artesia.
The annual clinic celebrates the life of Cy Palmer, a 7-year-old who died in a motor vehicle crash on Nov. 15, 2017. Although Palmer was wearing a seat belt, he was not using a booster seat, which helps position a seat belt correctly to ensure a child is properly restrained in the event of a crash.
