Celebrating 25 Years of Leadership, Vision, and Service
The New Mexico Broadcasters Association is proud to induct Charlie Blanco, longtime Station Manager for KOBF in Farmington and KOBR in Roswell, into the 2025 NMBA Hall of Fame. The recognition coincides with Charlie’s well-earned retirement from Hubbard Broadcasting after more than two decades of dedicated service.
Charlie served on the NMBA Board of Directors for decades, always stepping up as a leader, visionary, and true friend of New Mexico broadcasting. From launching the careers of countless young journalists and account executives, to championing small businesses in northwest and southeast New Mexico, Charlie’s contributions have left a permanent mark on our industry and our communities.
“Charlie is driven by his desire to empower people to reach their potential,” said NMBA Executive Director Monica Armenta. “Anyone who knows Charlie will tell you his faith, family, and love of community inspire him to do better every day—and even if you’ve never met him, if you live in New Mexico, he’s made your life better.”
Michelle Donaldson, General Manager of KOB-TV, praised his commitment:
“Charlie Blanco embodies all the ideals we strive for. He’s a broadcaster, a mentor, and a champion for New Mexico. When NMBA needed him most, he stepped up as a leader. He’s helped keep our communities informed and our stations strong.”
Prior to broadcasting, Charlie managed eight CR Anthony’s department stores across New Mexico and Colorado. His professional path has always been defined by integrity, service, and results.
As Charlie steps into retirement, he leaves behind a legacy of excellence and a statewide network of broadcasters, colleagues, and community members who are better for having worked with him.
Congratulations, Charlie Blanco, on your induction into the NMBA Hall of Fame—and thank you for 25 years of extraordinary service! You will be missed.
