Prepares syndicated programming, runs commercials breaks during newscasts and high-value network and sports programming
Segments content and clips to the server and then trims and modifies it
Accurately checks every aspect of each log in the automation system
Verifies material airing via the program log, research and contacts appropriate source for missing material
Monitors strength, clarity and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals and adjusts equipment as necessary to maintain quality broadcasts
Selects sources from which programming will be received, or through which programming will be transmitted
Reports equipment problems and ensures that repairs are made and makes emergency repairs to equipment when necessary and possible
Keeps all stations in compliance with FCC rules and regulations governing television broadcasters including EAS requirements, closed captioning logs and compliance with the FCC Children’s Television Act
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
Technical degree recommended, but not required or relevant work experience in broadcasting or a related field is preferred
Ability to quickly identify and resolve technical problems
Fluency in English
Ability to effectively communicate with other team members and department
Computer knowledge, familiarity with server playback and recording, and automation systems preferred
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes overnights, holidays, or weekends
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
