Train, evaluate, and develop a team of video journalists
Regularly watch shows and stories to identify specific needs for improvement within the team and work to develop those skills.
Manage news gathering equipment and fleet of vehicles
Shoot and edit VOs, VO-SOTs and packages for Broadcast Air and Online postings
Ensure our look and sound are among the best in the market
Collaborate with the Assignment Desk and work with Reporters to cover daily stories
Gather video and still pictures to further enhance coverage on our digital platforms
Work with reporters and producers to ensure the best content and facts are gathered
Work with producers to ensure their creative vision is accomplished with vivid video and natural sound
Coordinate incoming video elements from crews in the field
Plan quarterly photographer meetings that include training workshops for development.
Oversee video library and support archive digitization
Will produce and publish content to our online platforms
Requirements
Prior management experience
Previous newsroom experience required
Excellent managerial skills
Carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
Efficient operation on ENG trucks and all news gathering equipment
Can work in all weather conditions
Can operate large vehicles, must have a valid driver’s license and a near-perfect driving record
Operate digital editing tools, including Adobe editing software
Can organize and prioritize
High level of organizational and multi-tasking skills required
Related military experience will be considered
