PASS THE SOPAPILLAS

Pass the Sopapillas is a new audio/video podcast presented by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation that highlights real conversations and bold ideas shaping the future of New Mexico’s children and families. Hosted by New Mexico State Poet Laureate Manuel González, the podcast features parents, educators, youth, community leaders, and policymakers discussing issues impacting communities across the state.
The debut episode, taped before a live audience at Albuquerque’s Rail Yards, focuses on New Mexico’s nationally recognized early childhood system, including universal free childcare and expanded family-focused education initiatives. The conversation explores how New Mexico became a national leader in supporting children and families, why the state made this work a priority, and what comes next.
