Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Creative Services Director and Promotion Manager to conceive, write, produce, and edit compelling on-air promos and image campaigns either independently or as a team
• Work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and ensure that assigned projects are delivered on time
• Push the creative envelope to new heights while adhering to brand guidelines
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
• Minimum 3 years of on-air promotion experience as a writer/producer/editor for a local station or cable network working in a news environment
• Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
• Works with Creative Services Director to create content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation (viewership)
• Works with marketing and social media team members to coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy
• Engages in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms
• Must have ability to work daytime hours regularly and flexible hours including weekends when needed
• Must be able to provide a reel of work examples
• Strong non-linear editing skills
• Passion for strong image and promotion writing
• Working knowledge of lighting and audio gear
• Possess excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud such as AfterEffects and Premiere Pro a plus.
• Ability to work on various projects simultaneously and to deliver finished projects on deadline a must
• Highly effective communications and organizational skills required
• Consistently work hours required to meet deadlines, including evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
