Our Executive Director (ED) is responsible for setting the strategic goals for the NMBA. The ED oversees the organization’s day-to-day business and financial operations; creates the NMBA’s annual budget; develops business and revenue opportunities for the organization and maintains a clear, strong line of communication with the NMBA Board of Directors. Our ideal candidate actively works to inform and educate our membership about the changing trends in the radio and television broadcast industries. Internally, the Executive Director oversees a strong hands-on staff. Together, they organize our state broadcast conventions and awards events, our lobbying trips to Washington DC and the NMBA website and newsletter.
The NMBA Executive Director is a strong connected leader who works closely with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). He/She is an excellent communicator who will passionately advocate for New Mexico broadcasters, and knows how to build key relationships with local, state and national legislators.
Our ideal candidate has news, sales and/or a station operations background. Management and supervisory experience is preferred. Basic financial/accounting knowledge is a plus. Must be willing to travel around the state to meet with our NMBA membership and also to Washington DC to meet with senate, congressional and NAB leaders.
